Our Story (in short)

The Putting Penguin was an idea that was developed by Pat and Mandy.  Pat and Mandy played a minigolf course in Connecticut and did not care much for some of the course rules.  Rather than keep their thoughts to themselves they speculated others might share their views, or even benefit from a review of the course.  In 2001 there were few minigolf courses that had an internet presence (and many still do not today).  The goal of The Putting Penguin was to provide not only course reviews, but also to serve as a forum for the public to contribute their thoughts.  Putt, the Putting Penguin, is a mascot they adopted to pose in course photos, and is now the most recognizable figure on the team.  He has been joined by other penguins over the years as well.

The Putting Penguin has grown from humble roots as solely a minigolf course review website to a team of professional competitors. Our goal has expanded beyond just reviewing courses, moving into promoting miniature golf as a sport overall through our website, social media outlets and personal appearances, as well as our co-founding of the AMA.
