At first glance this course
did not look too bad, but upon closer inspection, it was a complete
disappointment. In what is appearing to
be a trend, miniature golf courses that are part of driving ranges, sports complexes,
or arcades are not maintained as well as they should be. This was certainly the case with the Golf
Zone. The mats were in great need of
repair; there were mosses and such growing in them. In places it was so thin and worn out, it was
hard to tell there was even a carpet there.
The foliage was not too bad
on the course and was one of its redeeming qualities. However, the foliage also tended to get in
the way because of a lack of grounds keeping.
Fending off the ferns and bushes was part of the adventure of playing
this course. It was difficult to play
this course because of its disrepair, and it might not even be possible to
catch the course record of 34 that was made a few years back.
As this course is in an
industrial park, and a bit off the beaten path, we would say it is not worth
the trip. The most disheartening part of
all was when we looked at the putting green that was available for people at
the driving range. It was in pristine
condition, with brand new carpeting, while the miniature golf course only a few
feet away withered and slowly died.
