Stony Falls Mini Golf is located in a bucolic area just south of the Berkshires in Massachusetts.  McCray’s farm is still very much active, and the mini golf is located just next to the planted fields.

The course itself is not very impressive.  The course is constructed with poured concrete, and the mats are not in the best of shape.  The starting point at each hole is not very clear and a little confusing.  The design of the holes does not allow a player to plan many shots, and the bounces off the concrete wall are not very helpful.  The cups are shallow, and the ball popped back out several times.  The course is relatively difficult and not very forgiving.  The par is very high, but that doesn’t make a player feel any better about shooting a 4 or 5 on a hole.  It’s very hard to get any aces on this course.

The biggest thing we liked about this course was its setting at the farm.  The layout of the course itself was nice and spread out.  The farm setting was really pretty.  We wouldn’t recommend anyone go out of their way for this course, but we would recommend it for locals and for families who are looking to make an afternoon out of the trip.  There’s ice cream, an animal farm, and even haunted hay rides in the fall.

This course was in one of the most beautiful settings I have ever seen. Do not agree with some of the previous reviews about the course being confusing. The tunnel & covered bridge were very creative touches. However the carpets definitely needed maintenance & the staff was a bit harried - although everyone is short handed right now. This could be an amazing course with some time and effort put into the condition of the holes - especially considering there are only 2 mini golf options west of I-91 in MA.

We tried this course for the first time today (May 2016) and our experience was very different from the other reviews here. We found the course to be well-kept (despite a couple gaps in the turf) with an interesting variety of holes. The progression seemed very apparent--there are concrete paths from each hole to the next, and each hole's number is painted on the ground at the head of each green. The covered bridge and the tunnel are unique features, and all the water features make for a pleasant sound and a lovely setting. In general, we found that we had to "drive" more forcefully on the holes here than we do at most of the other places we've tried, which was fun!

We will definitely return to Stony Falls (and the ice cream at McCray's Farm next door is a great bonus, too!).

I'll go along with Pat's review. Nothing much has changed. It's a shame that they don't take better care of the course, because the location has a lot to offer.  Don't make a special trip, but make a day of it by going to Fenway golf in East Longmeadow, Stony Falls in S. Hadley, and top off the day with dinner at the Munich Haus, in Chicopee.
