Upon pulling into the parking lot of this course, we saw a sign that claimed that this course was voted the best miniature golf in the region. Naturally, I said, “We’ll be the judge of that!” After playing the course it is our professional opinion that this truly is a great course, although it’s too early to say if it’s the best in the region (we haven’t played all the ones in the region yet!). This is an excellent display of an obstacle mini-golf course, and one of the best we’ve seen at incorporating local items into the course.
Keeping in mind that sits on a lake in coastal Maine, we saw obstacles depicting a saw blade, the Maine turnpike tollbooths, a ferry, a riverboat in the area, a lobstah trap, a mill, an Indian teepee, a lighthouse, a fort (complete with historical information), an outhouse (where girls putted through one half and guys the other, and it was a penalty stroke if you went in the wrong one), your classic windmill, and a lock from the local river. All the obstacles were in excellent condition, as were the carpets and the course itself. We only ran into one minor problem on the lobstah trap hole where the ball actually got stuck in the trap as it went through a hole in the netting that was designed to keep balls out of there. The course was very clean and it sat under a group of trees, providing shade for the entire thing. The people were very friendly and it also had an ice cream parlor that served a local brand of ice cream. The only thing we didn’t like about the course is that it used the plastic starting mats, which were set behind the actual begin of the hole, so you had to putt off the mat and over a metal strip to get to the carpeting. As you can see, though, that is a minor fault in an otherwise creative and fun course. This course is a definite “must play” and worth taking a little side trip off of I-95 (about 20 miles) on a sunny day. In time we may even get to play all the courses in the area and be truly able to name this one “best in the region.”

A great little course in
Naples, Maine. The course has many clever obstacles including a Maine
toll booth, and an outhouse with "his" & "her" sides to
play. One obstacle was not working, and it was a grist mill which attached to a
water wheel. The wheel turns a turntable which guides your ball down a path to
the hole. Other than that, everything was in great condition. One other nice touch is that the holes are
lined with crushed stone, and when a ball goes in, it stays in. Be sure to track this one down.
