This is the first minigolf course
on a cruise ship that will be officially reviewed by a member of The Putting
Penguin staff (and the first time Mandy has been on a cruise!). This 9-hole course was tucked away on the
15th deck of the Oasis of the Seas near the teen recreation area and sports
court. The view is incredible! And because the boat is so big, you hardly
feel that you’re moving while you’re putting.
The greens were in good shape, and
the holes had small obstacles, curves, and bumps. Statues of animals and golfers were located
throughout the course. The putters were
typical for a minigolf course, however, the golf balls were a lighter weight
ball (likely because no one wants players taking a full swing with a heavy golf
ball on a boat). The cups were metal,
and lessened the chance of a ball bouncing out.
There were no score cards or any indication of what par was for each
hole.
Though simple, this was a very
enjoyable course to play. Next time you
take a cruise please be sure to play the minigolf course if there is one and
send us a review!
