Our friend’s father decided to celebrate July 4th weekend with a pseudo-minigolf course in his sprawling backyard and it was definitely one of the most unique courses we have played. He created nine holes of varying terrain and players were allowed to use more than just their putters, which came in handy in a few sections. While no pars were set yet, scores ranged from low-30s to low-50s and there was a limit of 6 on each hole. While the course did have some bugs on the lower half due to some water and woods, they didn’t interfere with play too much. A great benefit of this course if that you can BYOB and enjoy a nice cold brew while putting around! A unique feature of this course is that once everyone has cleared off it, you can head back to hole 1 and turn it into a driving range while testing your skills with a variety of old woods and irons. There’s a little room for improvement and discussions are already underway on how to make the course even better.
