When we played this course it was relatively new and going
early on a Sunday morning we were some of the only folks there. We’re happy we
got out a little earlier because there isn’t much in the way of shade on this
course and while you might pick up some wind from the water, we can see this
being a warm play on a sunny summer day.
It is a Harris course but the brick design seemed to be more
forgiving, with less crack issues, than older Harris courses. A lot of the hole designs are typical Harris
course following breaks to the cups, multi-tier, wrap-around or putts into the
water. However, the selection of holes here provided from decent variety even
if there wasn’t much extra to add to the creativity. The course also holds it
nautical theme very well throughout even if not a lot of it is tied directly to
obstacles. If you want some variety to the gameplay, the course does also offer
the minigolf spinners that provide different ways to play the hole and with the
kids we took advantage of spinning every one of them.
Overall we enjoyed this course even if it is on the more
generic side. It is a little pricey
given the current rates for minigolf when we played and what you are getting
for style but it isn’t that surprising given the area is not far outside
downtown Newport. It isn’t a “rush out and play” course for us but you won’t be
disappointed if you play a round while in the area.

This is a beautiful
well kept course that just opened this past September. One of the larger Harris
courses - reminds me very much of Jen's Links on Long Beach Island. Since it is
a Harris course the creativity comes from the owner's use of the multiple water
features and course decor - very much a nautical theme. Par is set rather high
for this type of course - but that could add to the enjoyment for beginners.
Owner was on site that day & was obviously very invested in the course. At
first $14 seemed pricey but there are only 2 other courses remaining in Rhode
Island at the same price and are not the same value. Overall this course is
worth the trip.
