We have played a lot of Monster Mini Golf courses
over the years (this is our 8th location played, including the
original in Connecticut), so we have seen most of what the general course style
can bring. This location is no different with holes that have with many angles,
some obstacles and a few cups on a hill/slope. The holes played pretty true and
we were all in the mid-to-low 40s in our first time through. Most of the holes
you can at least set yourself up for a decent second shot without too much
trouble and there are some ace opportunities out there.
Like most Monster Mini Golf courses, the
distinguishing features are the various artwork on the walls, etc that depict the local flavor. This course had plenty of that to keep you
interested as you made your way through the holes. One thing we did note, although no way of us
really knowing this, is that it felt like the layout/size of this course
allowed for a little bit more room between cups/next tee box than other Monster
Mini Golf courses we have been too. This is especially good for an indoor
course where sometimes things can feel claustrophobic and after the “social
distancing” fun of the pandemic, extra space is always a blessing on the
course.
There’s a lot of good minigolf in the Austin
area so it’s hard to standout in that crowd, but as far as indoor options go
there isn’t much so a course like this is a blessing on a bad weather day. We
will always recommend a Monster Mini Golf as a play if you are in the area and
this one is no different.
