For those not familiar with the Monster Golf franchise, they are a series of Halloween/Scary Monster themed indoor courses.  Overall, the course is very appealing to the eye, with glow-in-the-dark attributes everywhere and a lot of fun sculptures and paintings on the walls.  Although this course doesn’t integrate the local area as much as the one in Windsor Locks, there are some nautical themed paintings which fit in with the shoreline.  Like other Monster Golfs, this course also has great tunes playing thanks to the house radio station.  Similar to the Windsor Locks course, there are plenty of holes that require a lot of planning and a lot of good knowledge of angles in order to get a low score and some of the layouts for the holes were pretty creative while being challenging.

The biggest drawback to the course is the size.  Due to space restraints, the holes are all back to back and there is very little room to stand off the actual hole when others are putting, or while waiting for the next hole.  On a busy night this can be frustrating, especially since there is a high volume of children on this course due to its type and the connecting arcade.  If you are looking to enjoy the course without many distractions, head down there on weeknight when it’s not raining.  The course is a pleasant addition to the Groton area and provides some minigolf fun for those looking for off-season fun or to keep busy on a crummy weather day.

After visiting Monster Mini Golf in Groton last summer, I finally got a chance to return again this summer. A lot has changed in a good way for this course. There are many new props, putt throughs, and exciting art work. The employees are genuinely friendly and happy. I had a great time with friends and my niece and it was well worth the time and money.

We went last weekend and were so impressed.  The difficulty was more than we expected.  Mix that with the atmosphere it definitely is one of a kind.  Being a competitive person within our group, I was surprised at how difficult some of the angles were.  I recommend this course to any mini golf enthusiast.  This course is open all summer long every day...check it out.
