This is one of the few courses on the cost of mid-Maine and unfortunately it has something to be desired. The course is a shade on the difficult side, but otherwise average and would benefit from a couple sweeping overhauls. The carpets are fairly worn and make for some fast putts and almost all of the cups had jagged edges, making for some interesting bounced when the ball hit them. There were also a couple of places where nature was slowly reclaiming the carpets in the form of moss and weeds. The course is one of the few we’ve seen to feature real sand traps, but as noted in other review that means a fair amount of sand ends up on the carpets. For some reason there’s also one random rubber staring mat, whereas all of the other holes are open carpeting at the tees. There are several tough shots on the course and plenty of places to put your ball in the water, especially if you don’t adjust your shot for the speed of the carpets. There’s a couple interesting hole designs, but overall nothing jumped out as terribly unique on this course other than the transparent top of the waterfall (which was pretty cool).

On the positive side, the cost was decent and the gentleman at the counter was friendly. You didn’t feel like you were playing a horrible course and the overall layout/setting of the course was pleasant. If you’re local to the area, then the course wouldn’t be bad to play every now and then or if you’re passing by it’s a decent stop for 45 minutes, but it’s not on our list of ones you need to make a point of playing.
