This course is part of a park
and run by the town of Stratford. It is right on the ocean and overall appears
to be a well-maintained park. It is also
one of the cheapest courses we've played all summer, which makes us feel a
little better about the course not being the greatest. It’s also a little difficult to find if you
are no familiar with the area. The
carpets are very worn and definitely need to be replaced. The water hazards also need to be cleaned or
have some kind of filter system. There
was hardly any water in the "ponds" which is a bit unsightly. The bricks that line the course are loose and
need to be cemented into place. A minor attempt
at keeping with a local theme was evidenced in the lighthouse on the
course. There were not many notable
obstacles, however. On interesting thing
about this course was its use of a starting system we had not seen before. It had various different color “tees” (think
a real golf course) and depending on which color you used the difficulty, and
thus the par, varied. This course is
worth playing if you're going to the park anyway, but not necessarily a course to
seek out otherwise.
