While in town for O Street’s 3rd
Annual $1000 Mini Golf Tournament in 2021, we played our first Goofy Golf just
a short walk down the Boardwalk. Goofy
Golf is a style of miniature golf originating in the 1950s that includes
obstacles and creatures made of steel and concrete. There are several remaining around the
country. This course is rumored to be
the oldest in Ocean City.
While this course is creative; it’s a bit of a
hot mess. The course unfortunately does
not play very smoothly and is poorly maintained. Some holes appear to be more ‘modern’
designs, and do not fit in well with the remaining historic holes. This is especially evident in the weird cave
hole adorned with pool noodles on the back nine. There is no shade, and the course is brutally
hot. We do not recommend playing it in
the middle of the day.
The course does have a rich color palette, and
will likely be more fun for the kids.
It’s worth playing this course once, especially considering the
price. However, it’s unlikely we would
go back considering there are other courses on the Boardwalk that are in far
better condition.
