What
you can expect from this mini-golf is an average course that's part of a decent
sporting complex. The courses are
nothing to write home about, but you will have an enjoyable time playing them,
even with the minor drawbacks mentioned below.
The best part of this course being in a complex is that there is a dairy
next to it and it has some pretty amazing ice cream. The worst part of this course being in a
complex is that there is a dairy next to it and when the wind changes directions…well,
you know what sorts of smells cows are famous for.
Now
for a few more general comments that cover both the courses. The water on the course was set up to be a
nice part of the course, but unfortunately some of the water wasn’t running and
most of it didn’t look very appealing. A
little bit of chlorine and a couple of passes with a pool-net and it’d be a
much more appealing part of the course.
Another downfall to this course is that is isn’t very well lit at
night. Some sections you practically
putt blind. Occasionally the ball would
find its way down a crack in the rocks or some other hazard and it was hard to
retrieve it, especially when you can’t see where you’re sticking your hand. It didn’t happen often, but it was a bit
aggravating when it did. The final
general comment we have is that in some sections the carpet needs some
replacement and the course doesn’t make good use of pathways. For instance on one hole, you putted over a
bridge, then walked over the same (creaky and soft in spots) bridge, instead of
using a separate pathway. There was also
very little room to stand off the green when you weren’t putting. A good general comment about this course is that
it had some of the nicest bathrooms I’ve ever seen at a mini-golf and most of
the shrubbery was well-kept.
Now
for some course specific comments. As
you can see above, the Mill Pond course was the easier of the two. This is due to the shorter holes. Although it made play move along, the
challenge wasn’t really there. This
would definitely be the better of the two courses if you are playing with
younger children or are a real mini-golf novice. The
It
may seem like our review was a little tough on the course, but when it’s all
said and done it’s a course that’s definitely worth playing once or twice
during the summer if you happen to be in the area. We had fun, which is the important part, but
we just happen to be stingy reviewers thanks to some of the great courses we’ve
played.
