This course recently opened and
we’re glad it did! The theming is very
good as it takes you on a journey (a safari even) through three different
atmospheres – Desert, Grasslands and Congo.
The theme of the holes within each section matches their description
including excellent use of multiple colored carpets such as tan for the desert
holes and blue for Congo river holes. There’s a lot of variety in the type of
holes on the course and there’s a few ace opportunities through none seem to be
too easy. The course uses changes in
elevation well and the landscaping is nice and not obtrusive. With the course being relatively new
everything seemed to be in good condition and about every other hole there was
a shaded hut where people could sit out of the sun while waiting.
The only thing we really had to complain
about this course is the way their handicap holes are set up. We’ve played many handicap accessible courses
before and have never had the problems we had on this course with the ball
rolling right out of the handicap entrances. They were positioned right were
the balls needed to go and didn’t have much of a lip at all to keep the ball
in. This was especially noted on hole
10, which is a double decker hole. The
middle pipe (the one you want to hit into to head towards the hole) shoots the
ball out right at the handicap area and both our balls went out.
Other than that one item, which kept
our score from being a 10, the cost is a tad high but they delivered on the
atmosphere and the kids cost is a couple dollars less so it’s still
reasonable. We would definitely
recommend this course to people in the area or driving by on the Garden State
Parkway since it’s only a few minutes off that highway.
