Can Can Wonderland is the epitome
of chaotic minigolf. Each of the artist
designed holes is unique in their theme, design and game play and they are done
at a scale that is not seen on many other minigolf courses and impressive given
the space they are in. They also mostly
play true to the putting, although there are some quirks to be expected when
playing on non-traditional surfaces and in non-traditional paths to the cup. It’s
likely not the type of course you would play often for competitive purposes but
it’s a fun break from the action and is definitely great with a group of
friends. The course seemed to do a good
job of maintaining the holes given the complicated functionality but you might
encounter some hiccups given the design, which is one of the things keeping
this from a 10 overall score. There’s a mix of challenges through the course as
well with some opportunities for aces and others where you’ll have to navigate
some tricky shots for a decent score. There’s also some unique mechanics for
the holes including pool table and baseball fun.
The experience extends beyond the
course itself. You can get some good
food as well as a variety of drinks, including a pour-yourself beer wall,
during your time there. Perhaps even better than the minigolf (if there is such
a thing) is the absolute ton of vintage video/arcade games that you can play
for free once inside the complex. There’s plenty of games we had never
seen/heard of that are worth checking out when you are there. It can get busy so best to look at some
off-hours times if you can, especially for the winter or bad weather days.
