This was our first stop on a minigolf trip in Austin and we hit this place up right after Mr. Tee from A Couple of Putts picked us up at the airport. It is a massive play and eat complex with many other activities you can enjoy if you’re looking to make a day of it here.  As a result they do have some all-inclusive package pricing but you can just pay for single rounds of minigolf. We played the yellow course first and then were joined by our good friend Highlighter for the red course once he rolled into town.

As Tom notes in his review, both courses do have new carpeting and as a result this course plays well for an adventure golf course. The bricks all seem to be in good condition and there’s some smoother places where common bounces are made which helps to eliminate some of the randomness of cracks.  There’s quite a few interesting hole designs with cup placement or the use of hills, bumps and slight changes in elevation. We found the yellow course to be a bit harder than the red but that could also be attributable to playing it first after a long plane right and not having our “minigolf legs” under us yet. Either way the holes each present a bit of a challenge but there are plenty of ace opportunities out there as well. In our opinion they would make some excellent tournament courses.

There is a bit of theming around the course with the castles but none of it makes it into the actual gameplay. We played the course on an overcast day so it wasn’t too hot but the course doesn’t have a ton of shade and could see it being a little toasty on a warm, sunny Texas summer day. The relatively inexpensive cost for 18 holes brings up the value of this course a lot and becomes even more so if you are adding it to a package of other fun at the complex. We may not rush over here as a first option given some of the other excellent Austin-area courses but it’s a great play and something that will quench your thirst if you are looking for classic adventure golf.
